  20. This is the second release of the wwwcounter by Muhammad A. Muquit.
  21. The binary distribution is recompiled with the Ixemul.library v47.
  22. Some minor changes has been made in the sources. It runs more
  23. stable now, so I suggest you do the same.

  26. ---
  27. It showed up that the Counter does not work with AWS, although it
  28. should work. I was not able to find the cause of the problem yet.

  31. MKSTRIP, make your own Counter digits!
  32. --------------------------------------

  34. With MKSTRIP you can make your own digits out of separated gif digit 
  35. images. Or use it to convince a webmaster of a counter site to use 
  36. it for you :) An example of a created digit style is added in the 
  37. Digits/F directory. Mkstrip is in the Counter/utils directory.

  40. INTRODUCTION:

  43. I am running for several years the webcounter at the digital city
  44. of Delft (http://www.dsdelft.nl), a small but very old town in 
  45. the Netherlands. One of the best things of the Webcounter is the 
  46. configurability. You can decide how it looks, with or without a border, 
  47. different colours, different styles, custom made digits, etc. 
  48. The Webcounter is also able to display the time and the current date. 
  49. When I got involved in the Amiga Apache httpserver project 
  50. (http://www.dsdelft.nl/~apache) I immediately thought about porting the 
  51. Counter to the Amiga. So, I got the sources and started compiling. 
  52. To my surprise it compiled almost without faults (this shows the strenght 
  53. of the Ixemul.library!). I am running it now for several months without
  54. too many problems. After compiling it with Ixemul 47 everything worked 
  55. more stable than before.

  87. This is the source archive, you have to install the wwwcounter2.3 yourself!

  89. I have made a binary distribution also, but that has one drawback, you must 
  90. install it in the directory where I am using it AND you can not choose where 
  91. the cgi-bin directory of your server is. However it is compiled under the
  92. APACHE: assignment, so you should have no problems there. But feel free to
  93. recompile it and make changes if you feel need for it. If you do, let me know
